“The cross has spoken, I am forgiven.
The King of kings calls me His own.
Beautiful Savior, I’m Yours forever.
Jesus Christ, my living hope.”
-Living Hope, Phil Wickham
What I love about Easter (let’s be real, aside from the Cadbury chocolate that only comes out twice a year!) is celebrating the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Why? Because it’s the reason that I am who I am today. Because of Jesus, I’m set free, made whole, and have purpose!
Easter evening, we got to go over to Luke’s parent’s house for a “casual” Easter dinner. But Luke’s mom is amazing and it was the most incredible “casual” I’ve ever seen! It was a full (delicious) meal with options, and avocado just for me! It included sour cream-filled, bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers, enchilachoes (which is like our family’s thing), and of course, Easter candy!
My absolute favorite part of our day happened during our Easter Egg Hunt for Judah. We hid 23 eggs in the front yard for him to find, and he quickly found all of them. He found them so quickly, that I wasn’t able to get a picture of him picking up an egg as clearly as I wanted to. I ran up and put one of the eggs back in the bush, so that I could take that photo as he picked it up. Rather than picking it up, Judah followed suit and began putting the eggs back in the bush, one by one! We all shared a good laugh because he is just the sweetest, and thought he was helping to put them away.
Once he found all the eggs and his grandma showed him what was in them, he started doing a happy dance.
There was also the time where I tried to take a cute picture with both of my boys… you can tell me how you think that went 😉 Judah decided he didn’t want to be in it, and promptly ran away.
And then when Luke and I attempted to take a photo together, Judah decided that now he DID want to be in it. He ran back towards us saying “hug, hug!”
Overall, it was a great Easter filled with laughter, joy, and fun and I am so thankful for family.
