To Luke on Father’s Day
It was almost 3 years and 6 months ago that we got married. It was almost 3 years and 2 months ago that we found out we were pregnant with Judah. From the very first moment you heard the news, you’ve been my biggest support, help, friend to laugh with, and shoulder to cry on. You’ve held my hand through birthing classes and childbirth. You’ve held my babies in the first moments of their lives, and you’ve held their hearts ever since.
From the moment Judah was born, with tears streaming down your face, you have been an incredible father. You’ve loved him, you’ve taught him, you’ve infused our deepest values into his life. He knows he is loved, and he’s comfortable with himself, because of you.
With Zion, you have helped me in ways I never imagined I would need. You’ve taken all the feedings some nights so I could catch up on rest. You’ve held, tickled, fed, laughed with, kissed, and loved him daily. I can already see the love he has for you and I can’t wait to watch it grow.
You’re my best friend, but more than that, you’re the only one that I’d ever want to go through this parenting journey with. I love the way we connect over the boys, and I love the way we imitate Judah together when he’s not around. I love growing even closer together through the way we teach them.
You’ve only been a dad 2 and a half years, and already you have been so good at it. I can’t wait to see what’s to come, and I can tell you this – I couldn’t ask for anyone better to be a daddy to my little boys. I would be so proud if they turned out anything like you. I love you so much 💛
